Loading ...President Traian Basescu stated on Monday, in the reunited plenary of the two chambers of Parliament, that he is backing return of some normal financing conditions, appreciating that the banks must adopt more flexible loan requirements.
The President said that even though there is no imminent danger of a financial-banking crisis in Romania , the credit shrunk and there is an apparent deficit of liquidity. To this end, Basescu reminded he talked with the bankers about improving the crediting conditions.
„I support the return to some normal financing conditions for the economy and of the credit circuit from the financial sector to the real economy, in conditions in which the state improves the regulation and surveillance of the financial institutions.
Romania pronounced for the avoidance of situations when decisions in an EU member state might have a negative impact upon the banks in the other member states; I also maintained that the help given to the parent banks must not suppose restrictions for their branches in the other member states”, underlined the head of state.
