Information in English

Premier Emil Boc stated on Thursday, in a conference on automotive industry, that the Government has allocated through the state budget more than 10.2 million euros in investments, money which indirectly will back up car production, as well.

"Obviously, these investments will be found again in an indirect support to the automotive industry, given that a huge amount of the money will go to the transport infrastructure, environment infrastructure, namely on the medium term the money will also generate benefits to the auto industry.
We are monitoring every week the way the money earmarked for investments are spent by the respective ministries", stressed the Premier. As well, he spoke about the measures taken by the Executive to help the auto industry, reminding the auto tax and the Car scrap programme.

He said that the Government tried to give the auto tax a form which, on one hand, would respond to the needs of   the local industry and, on the other, to the European regulations, as well as to the population's needs – the main recipient of the car production. Boc also reminded about the re -launching of the Car scrap programme "probably not quick enough" but, in his opinion, "as soon as possible".

At  the  same  time  he  announced  that  the  Government  decided  to  capitalize  CEC  and Eximbank in order to offer loans to SMEs. He also said that on Wednesday, in the Government's meeting, an emergency ordinance was adopted through which   an underwriting fund for SMEs granted loans was set up after previously a guarantee fund of loans destined to such   companies was established. Premier  Emil Boc  took part on Thursday  in a  conference  on the  automotive  industry organized in partnership with the Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association  – APIA.
