Loading ...Romania is attending the international book fair taking place in Leipzig on March 12-15 and its stand is organized by the National Book Center of the Romanian Cultural Institute (CENNAC).
The stand shows a selection of the books, albums and magazines published so far through the financing programmes such as the Translation and Publication Support, 20 Authors, Publishing Romania , a selection of the albums issued by the ICR Publishing House and promotional booklets and materials presenting the ICR programmes and projects.
In the events taking place under the logo Leipzig liest (Leipzig is reading) , CENNAC will organize and support the participation of two Romanian writers namely Petru Cimpoesu who is to read a fragment of his novel Christina Domestica and the Soul Hunters, while Radu Paraschivesu will read the (Ghidul nesimtitului (the Guide of the Insensitive) translated into German by the director of the Literaturhaus in Berlin, Ernest Wichner.
The National Book Center opened in 2007 in the Romanian Cultural Institute and it backs up the translation and the promotion of the Romanian literature through the Translation and Publication Support Programme (TPS), Twenty Authors , Publishing Romania and the scholarships for translators programme. The Center stages the participation in the international book fairs, meetings with the publishers from several language spaces, meetings among authors and translators and supports the presence of the Romanian writers at the international cultural events.
