Loading ...The chairmen of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats) and the European Democrats (EPP -ED) parliamentary groups in the national Parliaments of the EU countries will meet in Brussels on March 16.
The Democrat Liberal Party (PD-L) in the ruling coalition will be deputized for by the group's leader in Romania's Senate Constantin Traian Igas and ex-MEP and currently a member of the Romanian Parliament's Committee on EU Affairs Sen. Dumitru Oprea, a news release says.

The participants in the summit will approach topics such as the European economic crisis, the preparation of the election campaign for the European Parliament due in June, 2009 and the climate changes. Also attending the Summit will be the European Parliament (EP) President Hans-Gert Poettering, EPP -ED political group's chairman, the vice-president of the EP Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs Joseph Daul and other EP officials.
'It is an honor for me to represent the PD-L group in the Summit, taking into account the topics to be tackled, and that are of great importance for Romania and the EU, and also because I will be given an opportunity to meet with EP personalities, again. We hope that after the talks, part of the unclear and uncertain things related to the economic crisis , along with the policies we should adopt in the respect, will find answers,' Oprea said.
