Loading ...Romanian Economy Minister Adriean Videanu and French Economy Minister Christine Lagarde discussed at a meeting in Paris on Monday about the effects of the financial crisis, with the two officials agreeing to cooperate more closely in order to find the most efficient solutions to halt the crisis and to step up the economic exchanges between their two countries.
Videanu paid the one-day visit on an invitation of his French counterpart, the Romanian embassy in Paris said in a press release on Tuesday.

The talks between Lagarde and Videanu also focused on the French investments in Romania and their chances to be expanded on the short- and medium-term so as to implement the provisions set in the Roadmap of the Romania-France Strategic Partnership. During his official visit to Paris, Videanu met Vice -Chairman and delegate managing director of Gaz De France Suez, Jean-Francois Cirelli, with the talks addressing the European energy policy and finding new ways of the Romanian-French cooperation in this area, the release said.
The Romanian economy minister also had a meeting with French Minister of Ecology, Energy, Sustainable Development and Territorial Planning Jean-Louis Borloo; the two officials established a common programme meant to strengthen the measures aimed at sustainable development and the use of alternate energies in line with the European strategy meant to provide a better protection of the environment and to ease the effects of global warming, the Romanian embassy said.
