Romania is trying to insure itself against the unpredictable developments in the crisis, during the time ahead, he added.Romania's President received, on Wednesday, the EBRD delegation headed by Thomas Mirow, paying a two-day official visit to Romania.
Mirow will reconfirm the long-term EBRD commitment to Romania, particularly during the current world economic instability, the EBRD release reads.
EBRD plans, this year, include a considerable rise in the investments in Romania, which amounted to over 300 million euros in 2008. Other EBRD priorities are to support the real economy by financing the banks so that they should continue granting loans to the Small and Medium-Sized companies (SMEs) and supply investment funds to the energy sector and the energy efficiency.Since 1991, EBRD has invested 3.8 billion euros in Romania, namely in 249 projects and attracted more 7.2 million euros from external sources, and thus the investments have totaled over 11 billion euros, so far.
