Loading ...The possibility of forged graduation diplomas being issued by some of the Romanian higher education institutions is an obstacle in the way of their recognition at European level, head of the Department for European Affairs (DAE) Vasile Puscas said Thursday.
"Given that efforts are being made for the recognition, at European level, of graduation diplomas, and for ensuring transparency as regards qualifications and competencies in the European space, with a view to removing obstacles in the way of the free circulation of labor force, this is a situation that undermines all these efforts.
Therefore, Romania has to prove that its institutions are able to ensure the quality and legality of the process of certifying competencies and qualifications obtained in the Romania education system," head of DAE said. In his opinion, the issue is a challenge to the well functioning of the institutions which ensure the quality and legality of qualifications.
"This situation can generate questions among the domestic and foreign public opinion, as regards the seriousness of the higher education institutions in general and the fairness of the process of certifying competencies in Romania, Vasile Puscas said.
