President Basescu will also participate in the summit of the European People's Party as well as in a meeting of the European Council with President of the European Parliament Hans -Gert Pottering.

On Thursday morning Romania's delegation met representatives of the Court of Justice of the European communities and officials of the European Investment Bank. In Luxembourg they unveiled a replica of Ion Jalea's statue   titled "Archer Having a Rest," which was donated by Romania to the Court of Justice of the European communities.
"The statue represents an archer, but an archer that put the bow of war aside in order to turn himself  into a tightly strung bow, a symbol of stability and confidence justice can only gain by coming in touch with the fundamental values of mankind," Traian Basescu told the ceremony during which the statue was unveiled.
