A general package of medical services will be enforced as of July 2, says Health Minister Ion Bazac.
This package is now being drawn up, on types of pathologies.
"I wouldn't want this to be a Romanian invention, that is why a team of experts from the World Bank will be in Bucharest from April 1st until July 1st when the package will become operational, to grant us technical assistance for the drawing up of this package.
We have taken over the Slovakian model , the most successful one in Central and Eastern Europe. On types of pathologies, we will grant financing of one hundred percent or smaller ones. Co-payment will be introduced for certain services and this way of ensuring medical assistance on real bases does not refer to underprivileged categories. The World Bank's recommendation , is for vouchers to be introduced for the underprivileged categories, based on which medical services will be granted for free.
