The prime minister had said early this month, that the single salary system in the budget sector is not aimed at a fall in the existing salaries, but those living on high incomes will not benefit from high salaries for some time."In principle, we are starting from the premise that no salary in Romania will go down after the adoption of the law on the single salary.
Somebody with a salary of 50 million old lei will continue to receive this amount, but for a period of time, set by law, he or she could not benefit from salary raises, those living on smaller salaries will, " the prime minister used to say. He mentioned that the inexistence of a single salary law for budget employees generates special laws for various professional categories, creating huge discrepancies between people paid from public money, without taking into account the importance of their work, the role in society of the profession concerned.
The bill will be aimed at eliminating the huge discrepancies among salaries, and on the other hand, there is an act of justice in the system of salary granting for the budget employees. Everybody will know no lobbying in Parliament , or at ministries is admitted, we will have a correct law in the future, allowing us to set order as far as bonuses are concerned, " said Emil Boc.
