Meeting preparing ministerial conference on migration in Bucharest

The third meeting preparing the Ministerial Conference "Building Migration Partnerships," which will be organized by the Czech Presidency in Prague, on April 27 and 28, took place in Bucharest on Monday and Tuesday, reads a release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
 
The Bucharest meeting was organized in partnership with the Romanian authorities through the agency  of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of the Interior, together with the Czech EU  Presidency, and  brought together  more  than  100  delegations  from  44 states  including the European Union member states   and the Schengen area, the states in the east and south-east of the EU and Central Asia.
 
The above-mentioned event is one of the important stages of the first dialogue of such wide scope organized by the European Union with the third states in its east and south-east. The main subject for discussion was the draft of the final ministerial declaration to be adopted by the participating states during the Ministerial Conference in Prague.
 
At Romania's proposal the Bucharest meeting also discussed the EU platform of cooperation in migration and development in the Black Sea region. The platform, together with the EU Black Sea Synergy, is one of the instruments of foreign action of the European Union, which was created at the community level at Romania's initiative.
Representatives of the European Commission, Frontex, Europol, the Professional Training European Foundation, the  International Migration Organization, the  UN High Commissariat for Refugees and the Council of  the  Community of  Independent States also attended the  meeting.
