Loading ...The Anti-corruption General Directorate (DGA) investigated, during the first three months of the year, 516 people, 320 of them employees of the Ministry of the Interior (MAI), 239 of them were indicted (143 of them MAI staff, 28 of which held leading posts), 59 were accused (22 MAI employees) and 18 were held in custody. During the above said time span, DGA drew up 355 papers and criminal files, and 84 of them were started lawsuit against, the DGA PR Department data say.
The relevant prosecutor's offices issued 30 indictments and enacted 19 administrative sanctions, reads the DGA operative analysis on the Q1 of 2009.On the other hand, 304 accusations of corruption were issued in Romania in 2008, and more than half, 165, were ordered by the DGD judiciary police.

From the files the DGA judges solved in Covasna and Cluj Counties (central Romania) regarding illegal car registrations and illegal issuing of driving licences, it is worth mentioning the one accusing the Public Community Office for Driving Licences and Vehicle Registrations in Covasna County, where 19 persons were indicted, five of them being MAI staff, and 3 are investigated while held in custody.
As for the Public Community Office for Driving Licences and Vehicle Registrations of Cluj County, 8 people (4 of which MAI employees) were accused, 3 of the total number being investigated under preventive arrest.
