Romanian troops in Iraq open school in Ur

Military with the 'Red Scorpios' 26th Infantry Battalion   on Tuesday, March 31, took part in the opening of the Abdul Razak general school in Ur, a locality in Dhi Qar province.
The mission of granting humanitarian aid to the Iraqi population in the responsibility area of the Romanian military is part of the bilateral accord between Iraq and the Romanian Government, rads a release of the Defense Ministry.
 
"The school will ensure the education of about 180 children in the region. We are convinced that our your actions will not stop here and that you'll succeed in making other children happy as well. Thank you on behalf of the children who will benefit by this project," said Ibrahim Talub, the school principle. After the festivity, captain Bogdan Macovei, head of the Romanian battalion, talked with the local leaders about new humanitarian assistance projects.
