Loading ...The Students' Union of Romania (USR) makes common cause with the steps taken by the students in the Republic of Moldova, George Paduraru, president of the above-mentioned organization, told on Tuesday. "We are by their side, we support them and admire their courage. Today, at 8 pm, we shall be in the University Square [downtown Bucharest] to convey our support to the young people in the Republic of Moldova.
The young people in the Republic of Moldova do not struggle against communism, they struggle for their freedom. As usual the young people are the initiators and promoters of changes. They request a necessary change, a change for a freer future," said Paduraru.
The National Alliance of the Student Organizations in Romania (ANOSR) is by the side of their colleagues in the Republic of Moldova too, as vice-president of the alliance Andrei Craciun told. According to him ANOSR will stage peaceful protests in Iasi (eastern Romania), Bucharest, Timisoara (western Romania) Cluj-Napoca (central Romania) and in other cities where there are universities.
About 300 Moldovan students attending Cluj universities but also Romanian students on Tuesday evening, in Cluj-Napoca, participated in a rally protesting against the results of the elections in the Republic of Moldova and making common cause with the demonstrators in the Moldovan cities.
