Foreign  policy commissions  of  the  two Chambers  of Parliament in Romania are to organize hearings for Romania's new Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova on Wednesday evening, announced chairman of the Chamber of Deputies Foreign Policy Commission Laszlo Borbely.

"We are not going to accept in 2009 such unilateral decisions, totally infringing all it means diplomacy between two neighboring states respecting one another", stressed Borbely, referring to the declaration according to which Romania's Ambassador to Chisinau was declared persona non grata.

In the context, Borbely criticized the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Bucharest, who failed to come to the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs when invited for consultations.
"An ambassador is present in his office to represent his country and to have a dialogue with the authorities in the  country he  is  accredited", commented this  incident the  chairman of  the  Foreign Policy Commission.

In Borbely's opinion, the Republic of Moldova "is the only country in this zone which, in the past four years, went back in time", failing to "perform" from the economic point of view and failing to take advantage of its proximity to Romania, an EU member state.
Chairman of the Foreign Policy Commission of the Chamber of Deputies also stated that "it is unacceptable" that Chisinau authorities barred own citizens from entering their own country.

"This is inconceivable and the best proof how undemocratically this system acts. I sincerely think that this demonstration is one of the youth in Moldova and of those who feel that something must be changed in Moldova.
We reject any violent actions, but draw attention of the European institutions that they must examine the situation in this country and, "in a democratic framework, to try to convince all responsibility factors that Moldova must follow a democratic path, without such totalitarian type interventions", concluded Borbely.
