Loading ...Petrom has commissioned in Petrobrazi a new hydrofining installation for the production of low-sulfur petrol, the overall value of the investment amounting to 90 million euros, according to a release sent to the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

'For the construction of this unit we invested over 90 million euros in state-of-the-art technology for the production of low-sulfur petrol, which is in line with the quality and environment standards of the EU,' said Neil Anthony Morgan, member of the Petrom Directorate, in charge with the refining activity.
The new installation of Petrobrazi has an annual capacity of over 700,000 tonnes and the petrol euro 5 produced here will be bound for the domestic and foreign market alike. The construction works of the installation have started in 2008 and the services of construction and supply of the equipment were carried out by Uhde company, part of the German group Thyssen Krupp.
'The reduction of polluting emissions is a priority at world level and our efforts, as producers of fuel, are focusing on ensuring quality, in circumstances of reducing the impact on environment,' said Neil Morgan. Petrom is the biggest Romanian company of oil and natural gas, with activities in the sectors Exploration and Production, Refining, and Petrochemical Products, Marketing, Natural gas and Energy.
Petrom exploits reserves of oil and natural gas appraised at 0.9 billion barrels oil equivalent, it has an annual maximal refining capacity of eight billion tonnes and some 550 fuel distribution stations in Romania. The company holds also an international network of 257 petrol stations, located inn the Republic of Moldova , Bulgaria and Serbia. OMV, leader of the industry of oil and natural gas of Central Europe holds 51.011 percent of Petrom shares.
