Loading ...Prime Vice-president of the Liberal Democrat Party (PD-L, in ruling coalition) Theodor Stolojan announced on Monday that the party will support in its electoral platform, outlined for the Euro-elections, that "Rroma represent an European issue, not Romania's alone".
"We are going to support through our electoral platform draft that Rroma represent an European problem, not Romania's alone and, consequently, the European Union actions in this field, where there is further an extremely high degree of social, economic, political exclusion, needs a very clear response from the EU", stated Theodor Stolojan on Monday, at the end of the PD -L leadership meeting.
According to Stolojan, PD-L electoral platform for the Euro-elections is conceived on four big directions : absorption of Community funds, elimination of monitoring on justice, free labor force movement and adherence to the euro zone, set in 2014. "As long as monitoring on justice stays, Romania does not fulfill the EU set criteria", said Stolojan.
According to him, surveillance in this field exposes Romania to the risk that its courts of justice decisions will not be recognized in the EU space, and the Community funds will be halted. PD-L electoral platform for the Euro-parliamentary elections will also contain the actions needed to combat the economic-financial crisis through the budget adopted by the legislative and the budget rectification, which will include tax evasion cut measures.
Theodor Stolojan mentioned that the Euro MPs supported by PD -L are to raise during the campaign some other questions which might be solved with the EU support : agriculture and rural development, education, health care, energy, transport, environment, keeping our cultural identity.
