Loading ...The Romanian Embassy in Rome awarded prizes to the Romanian children from Italy, participating in a drawing contest, called "What I like most about Easter", launched on March 5, during the programme "Kids' Club", with 230 works being presented this week during an exhibition hosted by Accademia di Romania.
The prize-awarding took place during an event attended by the children authors of the works, along with their parents and friends, members of the jury, representatives of the Romanian community, teachers of Romanian language, culture and civilization in Italy.
"Taking into account the aftermath of the tragic earthquake in the region of Abruzzo, the exhibition can also be seen as a message of hope and solidarity, from the Romanian kids to the families affected, " said ambassador Razvan Rusu, in a speech held on the occasion of the opening of the exhibition.
Winners of the first prize are Georgiana Damian and Geanina Damian, two sisters from Turin, the second prize went to Roberta Roman, from Rome, and the third prize to Andrada Maria Carp, from Milan. Several mentions were also given, as well as special prizes, by ambassador Rusu, for colouring, composition, popularity, originality, for the smallest kids.
"Through this project, the Kids' Club, we intend to be closer to the children in the Romanian community in Italy, to know them better, to understand their wishes. Also, we believe this is an opportunity to make them know each other, and make friends," said the ambassador, adding that this was the first action in the project.
