The Ministry of Public Finance (MFP) on Thursday placed a two year and a half benchmark bond issue, raising RON 79.67 million for an average yield of 11.5 pct per annum, announced the National Bank of Romania (one euro trades for 4.2197 RON).
MFP rejected buy bids by commercial banks for the benchmark bonds with an ask yield higher than 11.5 pct.
The issue was worth a total of RON 250 million and the coupon rate is 11.25 pct. The banks' total bid was RON 383.67 million. The face value of a benchmark bond is RON 10,000.
A number of 12 primary dealers placed bids at the auction: ABN Amro Bank, Alpha Bank Romania , BRD – Groupe Societe Generale, Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR), Banca Transilvania, Bancpost, Citibank Romania , CEC Bank, ING, MKB Romexterra, Raiffeisen Bank and UniCredit Tiriac Bank.
