"In terms of trends , May 1 holidays, such as the Easter, are in a way a sort of intermediary vacations. Tourists rather keep their money for a main vacation, making savings by giving up the week-end trips or mini vacations on Easter, or May 1", said Adrian Voican, ANAT President for the region South and manager of travel agency BIBI Touring.
In the top of the cheapest travel packages, sold by the agencies for May 1 mini vacation, the Romanian Black Sea shore is in the lead. Such package prices start from 99 lei (some 23 euros) per person for a three-day package in a 2 star hotel on the seaside and reach 283 lei (some 65 euros) per person for a three-day package in a 3 star hotel in the mountains.
According to general manager of Eximtur agency Lucia Morariu, the most sought after destinations for May 1 remain, for the time being, the seaside resorts and those on Prahova and Oltului valleys (south).
Tour operator representatives say that the cheapest offers are not the best sold ones. For May 1 mini vacation the top of the travel packages is demand is dominated by three or even 4 star hotels, at prices starting from 110 lei (some 25 euros) per sojourn, going up to 570 lei (some 132 euros) per person per sojourn.

Price differences are given by the number of the hotel stars, the included services and the number of sojourn days. More demanding and with financial potential persons might opt for packages in hotels with a higher number of stars.
For instance, a four night accommodation package, with breakfast and three choice of dinner menus, barbeque in an exotic garden, with access to Spa services, inside pool, sauna, sports facilities come at a price starting with 975 lei (some 226 euros) up to 1,150 lei (some 267 euros), depending on facilities and agency commission.
Agencies offer is completed with destinations abroad, more or less exotic. As for the vacation loans they do not look attractive at all and almost disappeared from the banks offer. By comparison, personal loans are more attractive, first of all because they have lower costs, but also because the money can be spent without the need to explain the reasons to the bank. But the vacation loans, as scarce as they are on the market, have some advantages, such as discounts, insurance and free travel assistance.
