Romanian President Traian Basescu on Friday signed the decrees accrediting Romanian ambassadors to Sweden, New Zealand and Bulgaria, the Presidential Administration informed on Friday.
There were signed the decrees accrediting Dana Raduta Matache as the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Romania to the Kingdom of Sweden, the decree accrediting Mihai Stefan Stuparu as the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Romania to New Zealand and the decree accrediting Anton Pacuretu as the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Romania to Bulgaria.
The parliamentary commissions on foreign affairs unanimously approved the former secretary of state with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dana Raduta Matache, on March 3, to fill the position of Romania's extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden.
During the parliamentary hearings, Matache underlined the importance of a good diplomatic relationship with Sweden, especially in the context the Scandinavian state is to take over the Presidency of the European Union on July 1, with Romania expecting the monitoring report in Justice from the European Commission.
On the same day there were accredited Anton Pacuretu, adviser for human rights with Romania's standing mission at the United National Office in Genoa, as the ambassador of Romania to Bulgaria. He referred, during the hearings, to the solving of certain consular problems in Bulgaria, in the context of a high flow of Romanian tourists to this neighbouring country, one of Romania's Embassy to Sofia being the expansion of the consulate network.
On October 21, 2008, the joint commission for foreign affairs approved the former ambassador to Iraq Mihai Stena Stuparu to be the ambassador of Romania to Australia and New Zealand. The discussions in the two commissions targeted topics related to the environment protection and also the role played by the Romanian community in Australia in promoting Romania's interests in this state.
