King Michael advises young journalists to tell the truth

Former Romanian King Michael I advised, on Friday, the young journalists to set at the basis of the journalistic moves the respect of truth.
"Sometimes things are not pleasant, but they have to be presented the way they are, observing the truth," said King Michael, on the occasion of a visit to the public radio station (SRR). The former king confessed that he does not listen too often to the radio, he prefers the TV instead, but he stressed that Radio Romania does something very important by its journalistic moves.
 
King Michael was present, on the Holy Friday, at the launch of the volume "H istory goes away", the word stays," signed by Vasile Ionescu, which includes testimonies of the last director of the public radio of the pre-communist period. This is a subjective document of crossroads moments in the history of the Romanian radio, and of the entire Romania, as academician Dan Berindei, vice -president of the Romanian Academy and literary historian Valeriu Rapeanu called it. The edition was edited by Liliana Museteanu and Adrian Cioroianu.
 
At the end of the launch, King Michael I visited the technical staff, the reporting room of the Romanian public radio, the room of the news and the studio of the radio theater.
The former king made a registering in studio 30 of the public radio.The former sovereign showed interest in the technique used by the public radio, he said that he visits for the first time this institution, he was moved to remember the moment of August 23, 1944, when he could address the country (at that moment Romania joined the Coalition of the United Nations, e.n.).
 
"I can remember very well when there came to the Palace the technician with the then director Vasile Ionescu. The proclamation was something very important for the people," King Michael the first was moved to say.
President director general of the public radio Maria Toghina said, at the end of the visit, that he believed the visit is "an arch of time", a gesture of moral reparation and reconstruction in the history of the Romanians.
