Information in English

The rural boarding houses are in high demand with tourists in the Easter time, with 18,000 reservations officially registered, reads a statistic of the Federation of the Employers Associations in the Romanian Tourism (FPTR).
The officials of the FPTR are of the opinion that at least 9,000   tourists can be added, who preferred equally expensive variants, but on the "underground" market.

The areas in the highest demand were Bran-Moeciu, Vrancea, Sibiu, Maramures and Buzau, where reservations exceeded 90 percent of the housing capacity. According to the same source, second come the mountain resorts, by far in the highest demand are those on the Prahova Valley, where occupancy reached 60 percent. The demand was high also in the other mountain resorts, with occupancy staying at 50 percent of the boarding capacity.

Another segment in high demand was that of big cities, where traditional Easter meals will be eaten in the restaurants of the hotels, there will be some 5,000 tourists, the statistics of FPTR also reads. Like in the previous years, the Black Sea shore is not preferred by the Romanians for the Easter holidays.

So, from the 5,000 boarding places prepared, only some 800 reservations were made. The main factors that have led, among other things, to a poor presence of tourists in the Black Sea resorts was the bad weather of late, the FPTR officials believe.
This year, over 1,500 tourists have chosen various spas, where the offer benefits from the lowest prices.

Comparing with the statistics of the Federation in the previous years, the  level of sales reported of late is similar to that in 2006, in the number of tourists. At the same time, remarked is a stagnation and even a  fall in the  prices  of  tourist services, compared with the  previous  year.
According to FPTR, the number of tourists who made reservations for the Easter period, this year, is 37 percent lower than in the similar period in 2008.
