Loading ...The number of new vehicles registered in Romania in Q1 of 2009 went down 11.8 percent against the same period of 2008, reads the most recent evaluation of the National Statistics Institute (INS).
According to the source, a similar drop was seen in the case of the registration of new vehicles for the transport of goods (minus 41.6 percent), up to 13,743 units.
As regards the registration of new vehicles for the passenger transport, the drop was significant in the case of buses and minibuses, down 77 percent against the first quarter of 2008, from 2,586 to 594 operations.
Moreover, the number of new cars registered in Romania went down by 9.3 percent (105,922 against 116,759) while the category of motor cycles and dropped 49.6 percent against the Q1 of 2008, accounting for 1,638 registrations.
The INS statistics also reveals that that the heavy vehicle category also dropped by 96.1 percent.
