Chief of Romanian Navy Staff, Rear-Admiral Dorin Danila, will attend a meeting of the Chiefs of European Navies (CHENS), scheduled for May 7-9 in Limassol, Cyprus.
The CHENS meeting will discuss maritime security and the NATO as well as EU maritime strategies.
The Chiefs of European Navies (CHENS) is an informal, independent and non-political forum whose membership includes the Chief of Navy of each European maritime nation that is either a member of NATO or the EU and has naval armed forces.
CHENS seeks to promote understanding between navies of the member countries, to examine issues of common and mutual interest and to increase awareness of the maritime domain in member countries.
The commander of the military navy hosting the meeting also holds the chairmanship of the forum. The countries having so far acceded to CHENS are Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the UK, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Lithuania, Malta and Romania.
