Loading ...The new model is based on the same idea the Renault Sandero Stepway last year launched on the South America market was based on. Unlike Sandero, the new model benefits of a 2cm-higher ground clearance specific to SUVs. Despite expectations, the new model benefits not of integral traction.
Most probably, the new model will have a price to begin with of 8,000 euros for the Preferance version and has a gasoline-powered engine.
The actual launch on the market was scheduled for September this year, according to Ziarul financiar daily, following that the production rate to be increased from 1,200 cars on a daily basis now up to 1,340 cars. The Sandero Stepway is to compete on the local market with Sedici, Suzuki SX4 and Ford Fusion.
The first 4X4 system Dacia model is to be presented late this year, most probably at the Auto Salon in Frankfurt this autumn.
The same as Duster, the future DACIA SUV will have 1.5-litre diesel-powered engine for both the 105 hp version and the 85 hp version, as well as in two gasoline-powered engine, with 1.6- litre 90 hp, and 105 hp respectively, versions. Most probably, the integral traction system will be taken from the Nissa Qashqai model.
Last year, Automobile Dacia produced 242,415 cars, that is a growth by 8.8 percent against 2007. The Logan MCV and Logan sedan models represented 70 percent, followed by Sandero, the newest model of the constructor.
