Romania’s President Traian Basescu received the Vatican’s Foreign Minister Monsignor Dominique Mamberti, at the Cotroceni Palace (presidential hqs), on Friday.
In the beginning of the meeting, President Basescu evoked the moment of the visit he had paid to the City of Vatican in September 2008 when Pope Benedict XVI received Romania’s President and the official delegation accompanying him, at the Gandolfo Palace, the summer residence of the Sovereign Pontiff.

Attending the event were President Basescu, the delegate of Pope Benedict XVI Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, the Roman Catholic Metropolitan Archbishop of Bucharest Ioan Robu and the Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church Daniel, other personalities.
