Loading ...The energy security and the situation in Afghanistan were approached by state secretary for European Affairs Bogdan Mazuru, at the meeting of of foreign ministers of the Asia-Europe Meeting ASEM, at at the ministerial meeting EU – the Association of the South-East Asian (ASEAN), held in Hanoi, in Vietnam, Phnom Penh respectively, in Cambodia, May 25-28.
According to a press release of the Foreign Ministry in his speeches, Mazuru pointed out the contribution of Romania to the international efforts for the consolidation of security and stability in the region.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the head of the Romanian delegation held a meeting with secretary general of ASEAN Surin Pisuwan, dedicated to the identification of specific opportunities and instruments with a view to the strengthening of the contacts between Romania and the states members of the organization.
The representatives of EU and ASEAN signed a Declaration on EU’s joining the Treaty of Cooperation in South-Eastern Asia. The agenda in Phnom Pemh was adopted, for the implementation of the EU-ASEAN plan of action for the period 2009-2010.
In the first half of 2010, the first meeting of the ministers of the interior of the ASEM states will be dedicated to the problems of irregular migration, reads a press release. Romania attended the ASEM activities at the same time with its accession to the European Union, and it became, formally a member of this bi-regional forum on the occasion of the ASEM 7 summit in Beijing, Oct 22-24, 2008.
