Loading ...President of the Social Democratic Party (PSD, in the ruling coalition) Mircea Geoana urged on Monday the Government and the Ministry of Finance to identify all the attached conditions to the European Commission loan Romania is about to assume.
Till the next Government meeting, Mircea Geoana wishes an integrated and coherent standpoint Romania’s population must know in detail, mainly referring to the obligations incumbent on our country in exchange of the 20 billion euros loan from the international financial institutions.
“I have asked officially, mainly the Ministry of Finance, to identify all conditions Romania is about to assume in relation to the European Commission, being aware that during this period negotiations are ongoing between the Romanian authorities – the Ministry of Finance – and the European Commission on the five billion euros loan.
These things must be corroborated with the obligations already assumed in the agreement with the International Monetary Fund and, as well, with a less known question, some sensitive conditions in the agreement with the World Bank.
Therefore, I asked that till Wednesday, the next Government meeting, an integrated and coherent standpoint is to be presented so that Romania’s population will know in detail what are the obligations in exchange of those 20 billion euros we borrow”, argued PSD President.
