His Excellency Robin Barnett, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Romania, on Wednesday attended the opening of the Ploiesti-based subsidiary of the consumer credit company Provident Financial Romania.
Ambassador Robin Barnett said that Provident was an excellent example of a British company with special performance in Romania and that, by its unique business model, based on 130- year long experience in Great Britain, Provident demonstrated that it could successfully cope with a difficult economic context.
In 2008 Provident invested almost 20 million euros in opening new subsidiaries and expanding operations.
“By opening this subsidiary, the second in 2009, Provident continues its development plans in Ploiesti and the neighbouring areas. About 15,000 Prahova people have resorted to our services since we started our activity in October 2006.
Through the agency of its 12 employees and about 90 representatives the Ploiesti-based subsidiary currently manages a portfolio amounting to over 5,500 customers,” said Marek Bigajski, operations manager of the company.
Provident Financial Romania is specialized in granting short-term low-value loans, directly to the customer’s residence. Loans are granted without any endorsers, within 48 hours at most by the representatives of the company, who then pay weekly visits to the customers to collect the instalments.
This kind of loan is meant for the people who appreciate this simple, rapid and transparent financing system, which is suitable for medium-income people.
Provident Financial Romania is a part of the British group International Personal Finance, which has over two million customers in six countries on two continents.
