Bucharest’s northern ring road connecting Speedway 1 and Speedway 2 will be finished in November 2010, except the junctions, while the Chitila-Mogosoaia¬Voluntari segment is due to be completed in November this year, Transport Ministry project manager Marin Ionescu said on Friday.
To connect Speedways 1 and 2, the Ministry will organize a tender for the enlargement of the ring road in the segment between the motorway A7 and the National Road DN7, about 10 km and the DN2 and the A2, 11 km long.
Three corporations have been working in the DN 7 and DN2 segment that Transport Minister Radu Berceanu and PM Emil Boc visited on Friday, namely Aktor Viacons between DN7 and DN1A where works are expected to cost 19.5 million euros, Romstrade-Jaypart between DN1 and DN2 where works will total 26.76 million euros and Alpine – FCC between DN1 A and DN1 whose works are to gross 30 million euros.
The enlargement works for the four lanes of the southern ring road will be finished in November 2011 and there are three auctioned segments there as well and the associations such as Straco-SCT Bucharest carry out the works between km 43 and 55 (to cost 20.35 million euros), Euroconstruct – Romstrade between km 33 and 43 (worth 26.86 million euros) and Delta -ACM Radion Technology between km 23-33 (21 million euros).
All the 71 km of the ring road, the junctions included will be finished in November 2011.
