A forum on energy efficiency and renewable sources will take place in Bucharest over June 9-10, the event being organised by the Romanian Agency for Energy Conservation (ARCE) in cooperation with the Economy Ministry and the European Commission, according to a release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Due to attend the works of the forum are European Commissioner on Energy Andris Piebalgs, Economy Minister Adriean Videanu, deputy director general DG TREN Fabrizio Barbosso, alongside Romanian and European experts in the field.
Previous editions of the forum were held in Amsterdam.
The energy efficiency and the rise in the utilization of sources of renewable energy are major objectives for the European Union as regards sustainability and safety of supply.
The meeting provides opportunities of information and consultation on the issue of energy renewable sources and energy efficiency between the authorities of EU member states and all the actors involved in such activities. The forum has also a role of observer, a center of assistance and monitoring of policies in this field.
