Talks for unfolding of Romanian-Polish common projects

A strategic Romanian-Polish partnership, which will set the bases of common projects in several fields, announced PM Emil Boc, at his return from Krakow, where he held bilateral meetings with his counterpart.

“During the bilateral meeting, the main elements we talked about were the preparation of the framework, in the autumn of this year, in Bucharest, of a strategic partnership between Romania and Poland, and which essentially sets the bases of common projects in fields, such as the industry, transport, energy, trade, the environment, culture, education, the regional administration and cooperation, ” said Boc, on the International Airport Henri Coanda.

He said that he and the Polish prime minister agreed to boost the bilateral trade exchanges, and a more efficient promotion of the products of a state on the market of the other state. Also, the two officials agreed to mutually support important projects, such as those aiming at a redefinition of the trans-European axes of transport.

Boc referred to a road infrastructure via Carpatica, crossing Lithuania, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, with Romania interested in the inclusion in this project.

“At stake is also the road corridor between Gdansk and Constanta, an extremely important project for which we decided to seek together solutions for its finalization, with Romania being interested in its financing,” said the prime minister.

Boc also said that the talks with his Polish counterpart showed the complementarity of the Black Sea synergy and of the Eastern Partnership, two important projects launched by the European Union, with a view to deepening the relations with the states in the Eastern neighbourliness, the head of the Government concluded.

“Practically, the moment was marked when the first break in the former communist block was created by the first free elections, and which, after that, gave the signal in the entire Central and Eastern Europe that the communist system can be beaten.

Which has happened in the entire Eastern Europe, virtually ending with the Romanian revolution of December, that marked the total fall of communism in this part of Europe, and the passage to democracy, freedom and the state of law,” Boc also said.
