Starting on June 18, the Dacia Sandero model will be made in Morocco too, informed the Renault Group.
According to the above-mentioned source, Sandero will be assembled by the Somaca plant in Casablanca, using parts made in Romania.

The Moroccan plant currently makes the Logan and Logan MCV models of the Dacia range.

The investment made by the Romanian-French group in the assembly line in Casablanca amounts to 16 million euros.

Somaca is the fifth plant where Renault produces the Sandero model after the ones at Curitiba, Brazil, Sofasa, Colombia, Pitesti (southern Romania) and Rosslyn, South Africa.

According to sales figures, Renault sold 48,000 cars on the Moroccan market in the past three years, of which 14,500 in 2008 alone.

As a matter of fact statistics say that the Dacia brand is the second car make in the Moroccan people’s preferences, with a 16 percent market share.
At world level Dacia commercialized almost 77,000 Sandero motorcars.
