The EximBank board on Thursday met with representatives of the National Association of Exporters and Importers in Romania (ANEIR) in trying to identify a concrete plan of joint actions likely to contribute to a more efficient involvement of EximBank in boosting Romanian exports.
“We have started to simplify norms and procedures so as to diminish the assessment period and answer promptly to our clients’ requests,” EximBank president Ionut Costea said.
He added that the bank encourages lending in lei but foreign financing lines are looked for in case customers will ask for loans in hard currency.
Mihai Ionescu, general secretary of ANEIR, said that “the association’s members see EximBank as a necessary partner for boosting exports.
If we take a look at the figures, we will notice that Romanian exports are going down.
We need the sate’s active implication to balance the situation,” he said.
EximBank is a state-owned bank and specializes in providing financing, guarantees and insurance to support export activities.
