President Traian Basescu told, on Wednesday, the graduates of the National Institute of Magistracy, invited to the Cotroceni Presidential Palace, that justice is confronted with a credibility crisis.
“Unfortunately, this kind of “judge’s whim” has happened not long ago at the highest judicial instance in the country, the Highest Court.
This crisis (…) is not necessarily generated by a lack of personnel, or the lack of resources, but by the way the very High Court of Cassation and Justice acted, infringing the Constitution.
This is the big crisis in the justice system and it was obvious for the whole country to see, as an effect of a decision of the Constitutional Court.
Moreover, the crisis is deepening. Today, even the Upper Magistracy Council (CSM) lost a trial at the Constitutional Court.
This is the reason why there is a crisis in justice: it is the credibility one”, explained Traian Basescu.
