Loading ...The Government will make a budget rectification, most likely in the third quarter of the year and the decision will be taken after an evaluation of the economic situation, together with experts of the European Commission and of the International Monetary Fund, announced Finance Minister Gheorghe Pogea.
“The Government is mandated to make budget rectifications during parliamentary vacation. We will certainly make a budget rectification”, maintained Gheorghe Pogea, underlining that this decision will be announced “in useful time”.
He said that at the end of July Government representatives will have a meeting with European Commission and International Monetary Fund experts within which the economic outlook will be examined and a budget rectification will be established then.
Premier Emil Boc said last week, on the public television channel, that an eventual budget rectification could occur, but not in the near future.
He said that such a measure might be adopted after the survey of the six months of governance.
Minister of Labor and Social Protection Marian Sarbu stated that a budget rectification is likely in August, but its value is to be established according to the Ministry of Finance revenues.
This could be a second budget rectification this year after the one in April.
Then, the Government approved the budget rectification for 2009, which provides a budget deficit of 4.6 percent of the GDP, compared to 2 percent initially, the public budget being now grounded on a 4 percent economic decline and a GDP of 531.25 billion lei.
