He added that a decision was made to cut by 50 percent this summer the number of governmental agencies that are not to be found in the structures imposed by European norms.
“The Decision of the Government sounds like this: some governmental agencies will be disbanded, 50 percent of them will be put together. The exception is those who exist in the EU, and are part, some of them, of the Directives of the European Union.
To put it differently, everything that is not necessary, in line with the EU directives and with the participation of Romania in various international structures, their number will be cut by half, “PM Emil Boc said, after the government meeting on Wednesday.
According to him, the Executive has made an inventory of the agencies that are going to be subject to these measures, in two weeks, a government decision or a draft law will be issued for implementation, function of the decision of the Constitutional Court in this respect.
“We have made an inventory of them (the agencies, e.n.), we have set two weeks for the preparation of of a government decision or a bill for the disbanding or the putting together of governmental agencies.
Following the decision of the Constitutional Court in a previous case, we are to decide the manner in which we will promote the disbanding and putting together of the agencies, namely emergency ordinance of bill,” Boc mentioned.
The prime minister avoided to say what agencies will be put together or disbanded “in order not to make the public feel a climate of instability until the final decision to be made by the Government (…), what is sure is that this summer things will be finalized.”
