‘ANAT believes that the most important topic on which both the ministry and the employers agreed was the joint decision regarding the establishment of the Romanian Tourism Organisation under a public-private partnership that will take over the tasks of promoting Romania as a travel destination, in accordance with the master plan drawn up by experts of the World Tourism Organization,’ says ANAT Chair Corina Martin.
ANAT says that the establishment of the new organisation is a crucial point of special strategic significance to the promotion of Romanian tourism, given that this would set up the premises for the private travel operators, represented by employers’ associations, professional organisations and promotion agencies, to gain real decision powers in relation to promoting Romania.
ANAT also asked for a consistent harmonisation of the existing tourism legislation so that the new Tourism Law may comprehensively hold the relevant legislative provisions and thus avoid the current malfunctions as a result of the lack of correlation between various legislative provisions for the travel industry.
The Danube Delta – Littoral Association recommended that a final meeting for defining talks on the Tourism Law be scheduled for August 20 in the Danube Delta, a recommendation that passed.
