The meeting was focused on the cooperation between South Korea and Romania in the field of ecological agriculture.
The situation of ecological agriculture in Romania was presented, MAPDR representatives pointing out that one percent of the conventional products are produced ecologically (some 240,000 hectares cultivated with ecological products, ecological pastures).
Within talks, the accent was laid on the quality of the Romanian ecological products due to the use of natural fertilizers and the lack of pesticides and of artificial substances in general.
South Koreans investors’ interest in the Romanian ecological agriculture is first of all due to their trust in the European agriculture, in the European control systems, which is very much appreciated, in the European market, more secure and cheaper in the field of organic products.
The interest of South Korea to invest in the Romanian ecological agriculture was clear, in the aim to export and to value these products (honey, nuts, cheese, sunflower edible oil, forest fruits and others) on the South Korean market.
