According to Placinta, the ministry will be able to maintain its activity with 60% of the current number of employees countrywide, adding that the central apparatus will be cut to half.
“It’s enough for the ministry to operate. We must be flexible and not obese structures,” Placinta explained. She mentioned that over 50% of the ministry’s budget goes to staff expenditures.
Asked about the efficiency of the ministry she runs and the need for such a ministry, Placinta answered that sport ‘needs to sit at the government’s table.’
She emphasized that a coherent strategy is needed to stimulate performance in sport.
