Romania wants the portfolio of European Commissioner for agriculture, Dacian Ciolos, the former relevant minister, being frequently mentioned as the most likely option for the seat, Foreign Minister Cristian Diaconescu said Monday after hearings in the parliamentary commissions for foreign politics.
“The final versions will be validated by Government, I don’t want to speculate on any possible candidates, but Dacian Ciolos certainly is one of them,” Diaconescu said.
In turn, head of the Senate’s foreign policy commission, Titus Corlatean, said that the minister for European Affairs, Vasile Puscas, is another possible candidate.
