‘The American side continues to show a special interest in the economic relations with Romania.
The American investment in Romania is not at its highest level, yet, and we have a substantial political relation assuming, in our opinion, also an extremely well outlined economic dimension, and I said that to the American party, before,’ ForMin Cristian Diaconescu told.
During the meeting, we also talked about the economic situations in Romania and the US and the way the two countries are currently facing the economic crisis, Romania’s top diplomat said.
‘The interest in the economic cooperation and the readiness for it have been kept the same. It certainly follows punctual aspects related to several projects to be discussed with the Bucharest authorities – namely, from our viewpoint, what we have had in view and what depends on our mandate, such as preserving the US availability and interest in Romania, as an investment area,’ ForM in Diaconescu added.
As for a possible high level meeting between the Presidents of the United States and of Romania, Foreign Minister Diaconescu stressed that ‘when the economic level scores progress, such a meeting will naturally take place.’
