‘Influenced by Traian Basescu, you created a crisis in the governing coalition. Together with Traian Basescu, you have the duty to solve this crisis. And the key to solving it is not in the hands of PSD or the Coalition, but in the hands of the President himself. The solution is quite simple: Traian Basescu refuses to reshuffle Dan Nica, with the Democratic Liberal Party (PD-L) to return thus to the ruling coalition’s Protocol,’ the Social Democrat leader said.
According to him, ‘any other possibility would be nothing by a diversion.’
The PSD head also said the dismissal of Dan Nica was related to Traian Basescu’s ‘electoral interest’.
‘I remind you, Mister Boc, that it was in Traian Basescu’s electoral interest you proposed the dismissal of Dan Nica Nica. And you brought no serious arguments and no solid explanations. You didn’t consult with the partners in the Coalition, you simply came with an ultimatum. I remind you, also, that the reshuffle of a Minister cannot be made without consulting the party that proposed him first,’ Geaoana specified.
The Social Democrat reaffirmed on the same occasion the entire support of PSD for Dan Nica.
‘At the National Executive Committee’s meeting, PSD unanimously decided to reconfirm its support for the Minister of Administration and Interior Dan Nica. The PSD’s option stayed unchanged and is not negotiable,’ Mircea Geoana reminded, in the open letter.
Mircea Geoana on Monday to Tuesday sent an official letter to Premier Boc, in which he informed the Premier about the Social Democrats’ decision on Monday to continue to support Dan Nica as Vice-Premier and Minister of Administration and Interior both.
