Moreover, Daciana Sarbu asked for more clear information and more visible of the European citizens related to the swine flu, reads a release on Thursday of the Group of Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament.
The Romanian MEP’s statement was made at the recent ENVI meeting, which enjoyed the participation of the European Commissioner for Health Androulla Vassiliou and the executive manager of the European Medicines Agency Thomas Lonngren, with the debate focusing on the measures EC needs to take to prevent and control the pandemic.
‘In Romania, for instance, authorities can only ensure the vaccination of 25 percent of the population. I ask thus the European Commission for support in supplementing the vaccine doses, and also for a more clear and more visible information of the citizens related to this swine flu,’ Daciana Sarbu said.
The MEP also reiterated the necessity of taking increased protection measures in the railway stations and airports, the release also says.
