Moreover, as following the resignation of the Secretary of State Catalin Vrabie from the Department for Local Communities and Public Services of a General Interest there was appointed Secretary of State Liviu Gradinaru, incumbent director with MAI.
‘I did not bring politicians to the Ministry, except from Mihai Capra, for in my opinion MAI represents probably the best institutional structure in Romania right now,’ Blaga said.
The Secretary of State for the Relation with the Parliament Stancu Radu was replaced by Commissioner-in-Chief Irina Alexe, former deputy general secretary with MAI.
Moreover, Fainisi Cristian was removed from his position as Secretary of State, head of the Department for Order and Public Safety, being replaced by Dan Valentin Fatuloiu, former counselor with the Romanian Embassy in Washington and former chief of the Romanian Police.
As following the resignation of the Secretary of State Serban Nicolae, who was the head of the Schengen Department, there was appointed Marian Tutilescu.
The general director of the General Intelligence and Internal Protection Department (DGIPI) was appointed Pop Stefan Zaharia, with Inspector of Gendarmerie Ioan Costica Silion having been replaced by General Antonescu Olimpiador.
‘I believe Antonescu Olimpiador will decisively contribute to the improvement of the cooperation between the Police and the Gendarmerie, especially as we are trying to change the current balance of forces at the Army, with two thirds of the Gendarmes operating now under the Guard Department and only one third at the Public Order, while it should be the other way round,’ Vasile Blaga added.
The MAI Secretary general Ion Stoica was removed from office too, being replaced by chief officer Constantin Ciprian Baci. There were also removed deputy secretary-generals Octav Virgiliu Teodorescu and Aureliu Ghimpau, replaced by Commissioner Cristina Dobritoiu and chief officer Tudor Danut.
