PM Emil Boc addressed an appeal to dialogue, calm and reason, late on Sunday, to the representatives of the trade unions who announced that they will be on Monday on an all-out strike.

“As regards the state employees, I should tell the following thing: Firstly I would make an appeal to dialogue, calmness and reason. The three components can be the only ones that can find the way to go further“, said Boc, on TV.

He infirmed that with the coming into force of the uniform salary law, the salaries of the teachers or of other budget categories will fall by 40 percent. “I want that people take the law into account and notice that neither after the law comes into force this year, nor after Jan 1, 2010, the salaries of the state employees go down.

It is the present salary, before the application of the ten days of unpaid leave that will continue to be paid also in 2010, it will not be diminished, ” assured Boc. On the other hand, the prime minister admitted that the Executive has problems with the financing of the healthcare system, saying that less money was collected from the contributions to the health insurance, administration, the Interior than the healthcare system needs.

The representatives of the trade unions in education and of the civil servants, of the healthcare system, administration, the interior as well as from the public local and central administration, finance, members of the Alliance of the budget employees will be on a general strike on Monday.

They will be joined by over 500 employees of the City Hall of Bucharest, members of the Forum Unions of the Public Local Administration, affiliated to the National Forum of the Public Administration, members of CNS Cartel Alfa, who will protest on Monday, between 9:00 and 11:00 local.
