Romania ranked 3rd in the final overall classification of the Francophone Games, a sports and cultural event held in Beirut, Lebanon. At this 6th edition of the competition, Romania won 24 medals, of which 10 gold, 4 silver and 10 bronze.
Some 3,000 athletes and participants from 44 countries attended the event. The games are divided in two parts with athletes competing in six sports disciplines, including athletics, women”s basketball, boxing and table tennis. Participants are also competing in seven cultural events, including painting, sculpture, photography and creative dance. The games were first held in Morocco in 1989.
