Secretary of State for European Affairs Bogdan Mazuru will attend the informal meeting of the foreign ministers of the states participating in the South East Europe Cooperation Process (SEECP), which will be held in Istanbul on October 9.
The meeting in Istanbul is the first to be organized by Turkey in its capacity as Chairmanship-in-Office of the SEECP, informs the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) in a release.
During the meeting Romania will plead for the necessity to corroborate the efforts of the states in the region with a view to making progress in the process of European and/or Euro-Atlantic integration and consolidating the SEECP role in the region and Europe.
Romania will also support a joint approach regionally in order to counteract adverse effects of the global economic crisis. It will also support the organization during the Turkish Chairmanship-in-Office of some meetings in key fields for the development of the region: transports, infrastructure, energy, economy, justice and home affairs, informs MAE.
