Over 580 million euros were granted under the Operational programme for economic competitiveness, some 120 millions being paid already, Catalina Melita, general director of the management authority for this programme, said.
“Over 580 million euros were approved , out of 4,700 projects submitted,” Melita said. He said that reimbursement requests have started to be submitted only as of 2009, and the possibility of pre-financing, able to cover up to one third of the eligible expenditure, has been introduced. Under the Operational programme for economic competitiveness, Romania should receive about 3 billion euros until 2012.
